Five Nights at Sonic's: Maniac Mania Infinite (abbreviated as MMI; previously known as Five Nights at Sonic's: Maniac Mania Recoded and abbreviated as MMR) was a remake of the original Five Nights at Sonic's: Maniac Mania built from the ground-up. The game promised new features and some that return from the cancelled Five Nights at Sonic's: Maniac Mania Plus. Just like what came before, it faced cancellation.
Overview
The game is a recoding of the original Maniac Mania. Enemies in the game have a revamped method of attacking the player (Luigi) and features a non-canon story that involves the arcade machine being a world inside the Phantom Ruby. The arcade itself resides in Null Space, as seen in the end of the game's demo.
Not only feature-wise, but also graphically the game has changed; the head icons for the games have been replaced for pixel art that mimics spritework from the class Sonic the Hedgehog games. Next to that are new info poses, in-game sprites and more.
There was a completely separate gameplay mode planned called Blackout Mode wherein the building's lights have run out, making the gameplay resemble Five Nights at Sonic's 4 and Five Nights at Sonic's 3 Reburned, a fanmade title. This mode's purpose is to emulate both styles of gameplay at once.

A playable demo of Infinite was released, but months later, development of the game itself had suddenly stopped. Many members of the team decided to depart within a short period of time, and in addition, the FNaS community went after Smiler for some time. He attempted to continue development by starting all over with a new visual style and Mark as the new main artist to replace Klunsgod's art entirely. However, the conditions at hand were too much for Smiler to handle and Infinite was ultimately cancelled with the intention to leave behind Maniac Mania itself for good.
